Gen 3 Portals Are Geared for All Your ride style is as unique as you are, which is why we don’t make “one size fits all” portals. With SuperATV’s Gen 3 4” Portal Gear Lift, you’ve got options for your Honda Talon 1000R. First off, you tell us which gear reduction you want—a 30% reduction is perfect for big tires and even bigger torque, while 15% is ideal for smooth, precise trail riding. You also get a say in what kind of housings you use. Whether you go with cast or billet aluminum, you’re getting a portal gear lift that just can’t be beat.
GDP—the Most Trusted Name in Portals Why do more riders pick SuperATV’s portal gear lifts over anything else? That’s easy—we’re the portal experts. GDP portals are the most trusted on the market because of our industry-leading technology and countless hours of trail testing. When you choose SuperATV, you’re joining thousands of riders all over the world who get to experience the magic of GDP every day.
Perfect for Mud You haven’t truly experienced mud if you haven’t tackled the bogs while riding on GDP portals. Getting slowed down by thick, peanut-butter mud will be a thing of the past with the torque boost that GDP gives you. And with an extra four inches of clearance, you won’t have to worry about getting swamped. There’s nothing like more power and more height to make your mud ride unforgettable.
A Gear Reduction That Protects Your Drivetrain A huge advantage of portal gear lifts is how they put the lift right in the hub, which doesn’t put additional or unnecessary stress on your drivetrain. This lets you ride harder and tackle bigger obstacles without messing up your machine’s most vital parts.

Unmatched Gear Material If you want a smooth and quiet performance every time you ride, look no further than GDP. The gears are the heart of your portal gear lift, which is why we don’t cut corners here (or anywhere, for that matter). We precision grind our portal gears to ensure perfect mating with every revolution. And they’re all made with an ultra-strong 9310 steel alloy that’s smart, strong, and top of the line.
Stronger Housings by Design You can’t have high-quality portals with low-quality housings. Lucky for you, we’ve done our research and we know what it takes to make or break a portal gear lift housing. That’s why you won’t find anything stronger than our GDP portal housings. And you’ve got options! So what’ll it be—cast or USA-made 6061 billet aluminum with a CNC-machined finish? Either way, you win.
- Our housings are reinforced in all the right places
- They’re built with better oil flow and gearing forces in mind
- There are no gimmicks and no vents because vents do more harm than good—we know because we tested them
The Strongest Portal Backing Plates You Can Get Like everything else on GDP portals, our backing plates are the toughest out there. We make them using an advanced steel alloy that’s specialized for super-high force applications, so it’s definitely tough enough to put up with your ride style. They’re 5/16” thick and utilize a metal that’s even stronger than chromoly, so you’ll never have to worry about our portal housings failing you.
Advanced Gaskets and Seals Whether you go with cast or billet, both housings use:
- Advanced Thermo-Tork® gaskets with excellent oil resistance and a lower deterioration rate than Kevlar gaskets
- A sealed input gear and double-lipped output seal
- 100% sealing coverage throughout so you can forget about oil leaks
Bearings That Rock A busted bearing is the last thing you’ll have to worry about if you’re running a GDP portal gear lift. We went with roller bearings to hold the idler gear in place because there’s nothing stronger. Our output bearing is a double-angular contact bearing that can withstand large forces in any direction without showing premature wear. All of this comes together to give you bearings that are built for battle and designed to last.
Universal Hubs and Slotted Rotors Our precision-ground, stainless steel slotted rotors stay cool under pressure and give you the braking power you need, as soon as you need it. We also added universal hubs that have 4/156, 4/137, 4/115, and 4/110 bolt patterns and lugs. This lets you run nearly any UTV wheel there is. We also designed the tapered output shaft that attaches to your hubs. It provides a secure lock that keeps your hubs from wobbling or showing wear over time.
