Gen 3 Portals Are Geared for All Everyone knows there’s no such thing as a “one size fits all” off-road experience. It all comes down to where, when, and how you like to ride. That’s why SuperATV’s Gen 3 portals are all about giving you options. When you buy our 6” Portal Gear Lift for your Honda Talon 1000X, you get a say in what kind of housings we use (cast or billet aluminum) and how much gear reduction you get. If you’re the kind of rider who likes to push your machine to its limits in terms of power and tire size, a 45% gear reduction is right up your alley. If you’re looking to increase your cornering abilities on the trail, go with a 30% gear reduction. Either way, you can’t go wrong.
GDP—the Most Trusted Name in Portals When you add a set of GDP portals to your machine, you’re joining thousands of other riders who experience the strength and reliability of this product every time they get behind the wheel. More side-by-side enthusiasts turn to SuperATV for portals over any other brand, and there’s a reason for that. Our portals are the most trusted, tested, and proven, hands down.
Perfect for Mud Mud and portals go together like peanut butter and jelly. With GDP portals, your 1000X has the room for bigger tires and the torque boost needed to run them. You’ll be able to cut through the thickest, sloppiest mud with ease, and the 6” lift will keep you from getting swamped. You’ll never approach mud the same way again.
A Gear Reduction That Protects Your Drivetrain By putting the gear reduction in the hub, our portals don’t put any extra stress on your machine’s drivetrain. This means your axles, differential, prop shaft, and transmission are able to do their job without acquiring any premature wear and tear. Being able to ride without worry lets you focus on what’s really important—having fun.

Unmatched Gear Material Your portals are only as strong as the gears inside of them, so we made ours as smart and strong as humanly possible. These top-of-the-line gears are made using 9310 alloy steel, which is insanely strong. We also precision grind them to ensure that they mate perfectly with every revolution. Long story short, these gears deliver a super smooth and quiet performance, no matter how you ride.
Stronger Housings by Design We went all out when designing our portal housings, because we know how important it is for them to be stronger, smarter, and more reliable than anything else out there. And what’s more, you get options—choose from cast or USA-made, CNC-machined 6061 billet aluminum. Whichever you choose, you’re getting housings that are second to none.
- Our housings are reinforced in all the right places
- They’re built with better oil flow and gearing forces in mind
- There are no gimmicks and no vents because vents do more harm than good—we know because we tested them
The Strongest Portal Backing Plates You Can Get We make our portal backing plates using an advanced steel alloy that’s specialized for ultra-high force applications, so you know it’s tough enough to put up with your level of trail abuse. At 5/16” thick and with a metal that’s even stronger than chromoly, these backing plates are guaranteed to perform for years on end.
Advanced Gaskets and Seals Whether you go with cast or billet, both housings use:
- Advanced Thermo-Tork® gaskets with excellent oil resistance and a lower deterioration rate than Kevlar gaskets
- A sealed input gear and double-lipped output seal
- 100% sealing coverage throughout so you can forget about oil leaks
Bearings That Rock Your bearings can make or break your portals' performance. Just like everything else that goes into GDP portals, our bearings are designed with expertise and care. We use roller bearings to hold our idler gear because we don’t compromise when it comes to strength. Our output bearing is a double-angular contact bearing, which can handle huge loads in all directions without showing premature wear. These bearings truly are built for battle.
Universal Hubs and Slotted Rotors GDP portals come with precision-ground, stainless steel slotted rotors that stay cool and give you the braking power you need, when you need it. Our portals also come with universal hubs that have 4/156, 4/137, 4/115, and 4/110 bolt patterns and lugs. This means you’ll be able to run nearly any side-by-side wheel under the sun! We also invented the tapered output shaft that attaches to the hubs. It gives you a more secure lock that keeps your hubs from wobbling or wearing over time.
Add Some Extra Frame Support After installing these 6” GDP portals, you’ll be riding harder than ever before. Is your machine’s frame up for the challenge? We recommend installing a frame stiffener with these portals. It adds the stability and reinforcement you need to tackle rough terrain without fear of breaking something.
