Ultimate Ranger Mud Build Everyone knows that the Polaris Ranger is one of the best workhorse machines around. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t capable of some mean, mud throwin' fun. With an 8” GDP Portal Gear Lift installed on your Polaris Ranger 1000, you’ll gain tons of clearance and torque. You can choose from a 45% or 60% gear reduction, so you get the perfect amount of power for your mud monster.
GDP—the Most Trusted Name in Portals Whether you’re looking at lifted trailer queens or the rigs at the mud park, one thing’s for certain—you’re bound to see GDP Portals. Why? Because there are more SuperATV portal riders than any other out there. With more hours of real-world riding logged on GDP portals than any other brand, you can count on their quality and reliability. Not to mention, they look cool as hell.
Best in the Mud Business with 45% and 60% Gear Reductions Instead of driving through mud and praying you don’t get stuck, you can add our 8” GDP Portals so you’ll have room for bigger tires. Adding larger tires will allow you to cruise right over the mud instead of plowing through it. The best part of GDP is your choice of 45% or 60% gear reduction. A big gear reduction lets you run huge tires that feel like you’re on stock, getting your torque back for a whole lot of power to get through. You get punchy acceleration that makes turning those big mud tires easy.
Protect Your Drivetrain With portals, the gear reduction is in the hub. This alleviates stress on your drivetrain, saving you some big bucks. Your axles, differential, prop shafts, and transmission are protected with portals installed, leading to less wear and more fun riding.

Top-Quality Gear Material SuperATV’s GDP Portals are made with 9310 alloy steal—also known as one of the strongest gear materials you can get. On top of that, our gears are precision ground so you get perfect mating every time. This allows our portals to run quiet and smooth.
Housings Designed for Extreme Strength With years of experience under our belt, we know what it takes to have the strongest portal housings on the market. Our refined design provides superior strength whether you choose cast or USA-made billet aluminum. They’re strong and make your ride look as beefy as they come.
- Our housings are reinforced in all the right places
- They’re built with better oil flow and gearing forces in mind
- There are no gimmicks and no vents because vents do more harm than good—we know because we tested them
Strongest Backing Plates on the Market To ensure we have the strongest backing plates, we use an advanced alloy steel that is stronger than chromoly. We make them 5/16” thick so there’s no compromise on strength.
Advanced Gaskets and Seals Whether you go with cast or billet, both housings use:
- Advanced Thermo-Tork® gaskets with excellent oil resistance and a lower deterioration rate than Kevlar gaskets
- A sealed input gear and double-lipped output seal
- 100% sealing coverage throughout so you can forget about oil leaks
Double-Angular Contact Bearing The output shaft is only as strong as the bearing that holds it, which is why we use a double-angular contact bearing. It’s designed to take big hits from any direction without wearing prematurely. When it comes to portal components, no matter the part, we make sure all are built for battle.
Universal Hubs and Slotted Rotors Our slotted rotors are precision ground and stainless steel so they stay cool, giving you the braking power you need when you need it. They come with 4/156, 4/137, 4/115, and 4/110 bolt patterns and lugs so you can fit wheels built for almost any side-by-side on these hubs. We invented the tapered output shaft that our hubs attach to, which provides a more secure lock that won’t wobble or wear over time.
A Frame Stiffener Is Required No matter what ride you’ve got, an 8” portal gear lift is a lot of extra weight to carry. That’s why a frame stiffener is required. We’d much rather be safe than risk the chance of hitting a bump hard enough to bend your stock frame. Then you’ve really done it.
