Gear Down and Go Big What can you do in a Polaris Ranger XP 570 with 8” GDP Portals installed? Anything you want. With huge ground clearance, a 45% or 60% gear reduction, and bulletproof components, you’ll be able to take on mud, rocks, trails, mountains, creeks, dunes, and whatever else you can find. An 8” GDP Portal Gear Lift will change the way you ride.
GDP—the Most Trusted Name in Portals When you choose GDP, you’re choosing the most trusted portals on the planet. More riders roll on GDP than any other portals, meaning we’ve made and sold more gear lifts than anybody else. They’ve got the goods, and the number of them you see at every ride park proves it.
45% or 60% Gear Reductions—Perfect for Mud You’ve never done mud until you’ve tackled a bounty hole riding high on 8” portals. That ground clearance keeps your head above the deepest mud holes, and with up to a 60% torque-boosting gear reduction, there’s no tire big enough or mud thick enough to slow you down.
A Gear Reduction That Protects Your Drivetrain Unlike a traditional gear reduction kit, portals put the gear reduction in the hub. That means it puts less stress on your axles, differential, prop shaft, and transmission. Your components will last longer than riding stock, and you’ll be rocking a killer lift.

Unmatched Gear Material Premium portals require premium gears. Our top-of-the-line gears are made with 9310 steel alloy and precision-ground for a perfect meshing every time. The result is the strongest portals possible, and smooth, quiet operation.
Stronger Housings by Design We’ve made tens of thousands of portal housings. They’re out on the trail every day in every conceivable riding environment. All that real-world ride time means we’ve designed them to survive every conceivable failure. So whether you go with our cast aluminum or USA-made billet aluminum housings, you can ride with confidence knowing they’re the strongest you can get.
- Our housings are reinforced in all the right places
- They’re built with better oil flow and gearing forces in mind
- There are no gimmicks and no vents because vents do more harm than good—we know because we tested them
The Strongest Portal Backing Plates You Can Get What’s it take to make the strongest portal backing plates in the industry? It takes ultra-strong 5/16” thick advanced steel alloy plating. Hand-welded gussets and forged pivot blocks finish it off. And the result is a backing plate that won’t break, bend, or fold no matter how hard you ride.
Advanced Gaskets and Seals Whether you go with cast or billet, both housings use:
- Advanced Thermo-Tork® gaskets with excellent oil resistance and a lower deterioration rate than Kevlar gaskets
- Rubber O-rings that completely seal the housings
- A sealed input gear and double-lipped output seal
- 100% sealing coverage throughout so you can forget about oil leaks
Bearings That Rock Bearings keep everything running smooth. That’s why our output shaft is a double-angular contact bearing—it’s built to survive without wearing prematurely when you slam your tires into stumps and rocks. From top to bottom, every inch of GDP is built to last.
Universal Hubs and Slotted Rotors Our precision-ground, stainless steel slotted rotors stay cool to give you the braking power you need when you need it. They come with 4/156, 4/137, 4/115, and 4/110 bolt patterns and lugs so you can use wheels from just about any side-by-side. We invented the tapered output shaft that our hubs attach to, which provides a more secure lock that won’t wobble or wear over time.
A Frame Stiffener Is Required A frame stiffener is required with your 8” portals. Why? As awesome as the Ranger XP 570 is, the stock frame just isn’t up to snuff to handle a big lift like this. Trust us, we know from experience. Get a frame stiffener and save your frame.
